Marble Falls ice skating rink moves to Harmony Park

The 2022 ice skating rink brings snow, ice, and fun to downtown Marble Falls at Harmony Park, 215 Main St., from Nov. 18 to Dec. 31.
Past rinks have set up next to Walkway of Lights at Lakeside Park. This year's rink will be among the hustle and bustle of downtown activities.
It will still be a sight to behold.
“There is something magical about witnessing a kid seeing the ice rink for the first time,” said Lacey Dingman, director of the Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department. “Their eyes light up with joy.”
UPDATE: The rink is open from 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday, and 3-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on site and include skate rental and an hour of ice time. Tickets may be purchased online at marblefallsrecreation.com/home. Skate sizes range from a child's 5 to a men's 12. You can also bring your own skates.
Since the rink is outdoors, weather can play a factor in its operations. Delays will be announced at 3 p.m. each day on social media, @ChristmasinMarbleFalls on Facebook and Instagram, and on the Visit Marble Falls website. Or, text 830-532-5685 to receive updates.
On hot days, Dingman recommends parents bring a change of clothes for their youngsters.
“The ice melts a little on warmer days, and kids will be wet if they fall,” she said.
Starting in 2019, the rink has quickly became a staple in the city’s Christmas celebration. Exceedingly popular, ticket sales increased by 20 percent from 2020 to 2021.
“We love being able to offer families a chance to create memories that can be shared from generation to generation,” Dingman said.
