Fabulous food trailers of the Highland Lakes

Local Eats, 1610 U.S. 281 South in in Marble Falls, serves delicious hamburgers with fresh ingredients. Staff photos by Jennifer Fierro

No one has to go hungry when on the road in the Highland Lakes. Food trailers dot the landscape, mixed in with the wildflowers, granite outcroppings, yucca plants, and lakeside scenery.

When compiling our list of food trailer favorites, we looked for those that serve lunch (some also offer breakfast and dinner), offer the biggest bite for the buck, and are just plain delicious.

As this reporter made the rounds, I asked for the speciality of the house. Each trailer has many more items on their menus. Also, the following are not the only food trailers around. Take your own taste test next time you get in the car hungry.

(Please note that some of these food trailers only accept cash and are open on specific days and times.)
