There are several parks in the Highland Lakes to visit on your next hike, with each offering a different experience and feel.
The Colorado River snakes through the region, bringing life and color to the Highland Lakes. Managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority, Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, and Lake Travis offer recreational activities for thousands of people every year. Colorado Bend State Park, Inks Lake State Park and Pace Bend Park all sit on the Colorado River and offer three different perspectives of the terrain.
