For a little lake fun and adventure, check out Lake Travis. With its long tail weaving through the hills and rocky outcroppings, the northern stretch of Lake Travis is a sight to behold.

Depending on water levels, you can explore the northern stretch of the lake by boat, canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle board. With less boat traffic, it's a peaceful escape. Whether you're a modern-day explorer or just looking for a getaway, the upper reaches of Lake Travis are the place for you.

Up and down the lake, you'll find local, county and LCRA parks that provide public access to Travis. Many offer boat ramps, though before heading out, you might want to check lcra.org to find out which ones are open.
