Llano celebrates the season with a variety of events, including the Lighted Christmas Parade, which begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 in downtown Llano, and Llano Snow Day from 1-9 p.m. Dec. 12 at Badu Park, 300 W. Legion Drive.

CHRISTMAS PARADE

Completed in 1893, the Llano County Courthouse serves as a historic centerpiece for parade floats and marching bands circling the square Dec. 5.

A great way to spend the day before the parade is to do a little Christmas shopping by exploring the unique shops of Llano.

Then, as the sun sets in the west, make your way to the downtown courthouse square, where everyone lines up for the parade.

SNOW DAY

This year’s Llano Snow Day is 1-9 p.m. Dec. 12 at Badu Park. Tons of icy snow are formed into a hill perfect for sledding.

Wristbands are good all day, so you can spend a few hours in the afternoon riding the hill, take a break, and come back later as the sun begins to set. It’s a good idea for parents to bring a change of clothes for kids as well as gloves.
