MEET THE CITY OF MARBLE FALLS

Everything locals, soon-to-be locals, and visitors need to know about this Highland Lakes gem

The city of Marble Falls is the hub for Highland Lakes visitors looking to enjoy water recreation, shopping, golfing, hunting, hiking, camping, and award-winning wines and winery tours.

Marble Falls is the shopping mecca of the Highland Lakes, the center of commerce for the largest chain of lakes in Texas: Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Lake Travis, and Lake Austin. Shoppers also come from neighboring Travis, Llano, Blanco, Williamson, Bell, Lampasas, and San Saba counties.

The city was founded in 1887 on the Colorado River in southern Burnet County. The falls from which the city gets its name were covered by water when Max Starcke Dam was completed in 1951 to create Lake Marble Falls. As one of the two smallest lakes in the Highland Lakes, Lake Marble Falls offers wonderful recreational opportunities without all the larger boats and water traffic found on some of the larger lakes.

The city retains a small-town charm in a location with easy access to big cities. Austin and San Antonio are both only about an hour away — perfect for day trips.

We have demographics here and info about services, recreation, media and more in interactive icons. A comprehensive guide to Marble Falls for newcomers, visitors, and longtime locals, the Marble Falls Community Guide has everything you need to know to truly enjoy the city.
