2021 Llano Earth Art Fest canceled

The 2021 Llano Earth Art Fest and World Rock Stacking Championships have been canceled, according to an announcement on the event's Facebook page. At least, that is, an in-person version. Organizers say they are working on a virtual festival for next year.
Since 2015, LEAF has welcomed thousands to the banks of the Llano River to crown the world’s best in rock stacking and skipping as well as to showcase earth-based art and unique live entertainment.
The 2020 LEAF in March was held just as the coronavirus pandemic closed schools and led counties to institute lockdowns. Turnout was low as a result.
Organizers said they have decided against holding an in-person festival in 2021 because of the "numerous uncertainties of the world.” They plan to continue a social media presence for the event with announcements about alternate ways to celebrate.
LEAF was the last major Highland Lakes festival to be held after COVID-19 hit until the Llano Rock’N Riverfest on Labor Day weekend.
