Get sweaty, muddy, and maybe a little bloody during the Spartan Race weekend at Reveille Peak Ranch. The extreme obstacle course races take place Saturday-Sunday, May 21-22, at the adventure park, 105 CR 114 in Burnet.

Events include the Super 10K with 25 obstacles on Saturday, the Sprint 5K with 20 obstacles on Sunday, the Spartan Trail 10K on Sunday, and children's 1-3K races with obstacles on both days. You can run as a team or individually. Spectators and volunteers are welcome.

Obstacles are designed to challenge racers physically and mentally and include a fire jump, climbing wall, ropes, mud, and more.

Reveille Peak Ranch features miles of hilly trails with native vegetation, dry creekbeds, and granite outcroppings, adding to the challenge and the scenery.

Registration costs vary. Military members, first responders, and health care workers receive a 25 percent discount. Register on the Spartan Race website. All finishers receive a T-shirt, medal, photos, and more.

Visit the Spartan Race website for more information on competitions. Go to the Reveille Peak Ranch website for more on what it offers.
