End-of-life Planning Seminar Answers Vital Questions
End-of-life planning is a topic few people want to talk or even think about, but it is vitally important to those who are left behind.
The Legacy Ministry, part of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, is hosting a seminar designed to answer one question:
What do you need to do now to make things easier for your loved ones when the time comes?
The seminar is 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Koinonia Room at the church, 901 La Ventana Drive.
There’s no advance registration; simply show up. Pens and handouts will be provided.
AARP representatives will lead the seminar, which is open to everyone, said Legacy Ministry minister Weldon French.
He said many people know they need to plan for death but often require help getting started.
“We might find we have holes,” he said about people’s knowledge of the process. “If anyone hasn’t started, they’ll know what to do.”
Seminar topics include medical power of attorney, emergency information, estate planning, and funeral arrangements.
Representatives will discuss how laws vary from state to state, how to pass on property to loved ones, the proper paperwork to have ready, what needs to be signed and given to medical personnel, and other tidbits to make it easier to have one’s wishes carried out by loved ones.
