Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis' Holiday Shindig stops at Globe
The Globe Theatre in Bertram is once again kicking off the Christmas season on a big musical note. The Americana husband-wife duo of Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis is performing their Holiday Shindig show Friday, November 29, at the Bertram theater, 132 W. Vaughan St. Doors open at 7 p.m. The music starts at 8 p.m.
Here’s a tip: Get your tickets now. This show sells out just about every year. Mezzanine seats are already filled, leaving only general admission tickets, which are $30 each. You can purchase tickets through the Globe Theatre’s website. Do not take a chance and wait to purchase tickets at the door.
This is an all-ages event and features an open dance floor, so couples can Texas swing the night away as Robison and Willis sing a mix of Christmas songs from their “Happy Holidays” album as well as other favorites.
The couple started the Holiday Shindig about 20 years ago at the Paramount Theatre in Austin. The show was so popular that they now take it on the road. They even make a quick jaunt to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
With one show in Austin in December, the Bertram location draws from across the area, but it’s more than the proximity to Austin that makes The Globe one of the best stops on the tour. The historic theater's intimate style is perfect for Robison and Willis, who love interacting with audiences.
A cash-only venue, the Globe has concessions, including beer and wine. Several ATMs are located nearby.
