Christian Comedienne Kelly Nieto Presents ‘Path to Peace and Purpose' in Horseshoe Bay
For years, Kelly Nieto described herself as an agnostic and “New Ager," participating in seances and consulting psychics. But during a severe bout with depression, she reached out to something else: God.
And it changed her life.
Neto is bringing her message, "The Path to Peace and Purpose," to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 201 Dalton Circle in Horseshoe Bay, on Saturday, Oct. 20.
The event is sponsored by St. Paul’s women’s organization, Women Working in Communion and Spirit. Brunch begins at 10:45 a.m. followed by Nieto’s presentation from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table of eight. They can be purchased at the church office from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday.
During her presentation, Nieto will take people along her conversion journey using humor. She is a former Miss Michigan and Miss America runner-up. After her beauty pageant experiences, she toured as a musical comedienne and opening act for several music stars, including Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels, and The Judds.
Nieto eventually left touring, got married, and began a family. It was after the birth of her second child that she fell into a deep depression, and it was only after turning to God that she began to work her way out of it.
From that experience, she created "Cross and Light,"a multimedia production depicting Jesus’s death and resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. The production has since toured and been seen by more than 100,000 people around the world.
Call the church at (830) 598-8342 for more information on Nieto's presentation.
