Kevin Fowler on stage at Burnet Concert Series
With Kevin Fowler headlining the Burnet Concert Series on August 3, it’s a good idea to get your tickets well ahead of time. The country singer-songwriter can draw a big crowd.
The concert, sponsored by the city of Burnet and Double Eagle Entertainment, takes place at the Haley-Nelson Park amphitheater, 1624 Buchanan Drive in Burnet. Gates open at 6:30PM, and the music starts at 7:15PM. Mason Lively is the opening act. Tickets are $20 and available at doubleeagletx.com.
There is a $5 cooler fee for the BYOB event, but no glass containers are allowed.
Fowler is one of the Texas musicians who helped define the Red Dirt country sound. Though he started in the Panhandle, his musical journey took him to Los Angeles and eventually back to his home state to Austin. He played guitar for the rock band Dangerous Toys in the 1990s but eventually started his own Southern hard rock band.
By the late ’90s, Fowler found his feet in Texas country music, developing into a solid singer-songwriter who knows how to connect with fans. His first album, “Beer, Bait & Ammo,” set the foundation for a successful career.
Fowler’s songs reflect life: the good times, the bad times, and those times in between.
Opening for Fowler is up-and-coming Red Dirt country artist and South Texas native Mason Lively, whose small-town roots are the basis for his music. His debut album, “Stronger Ties,” was released in April 2018, and he’s a regular on the road, touring Texas with jaunts to Nashville.
