They’re back!

The 2019 Ladies in Leather motorcycle parade and rally comes to Llano on Thursday-Sunday, September 12-15. Headquarters for the event is the John L. Kuykendall Event Center, but you can bet riders will take advantage of the great roadways across the Highland Lakes.

Ladies in Leather sprang from last year’s Lace, Grace and Gears, which drew a sisterhood of riders from across the country and beyond. The founder of Lace, Grace and Gears announced that rally would not continue, but many of the participants didn’t want the party to end and created Ladies in Leather.

Riders should start rolling into town Thursday for a meet-and-greet, dinner, and sunset kayak trip. Friday is the first full day of activities, including a fun run at 9 a.m. and a long guided Hill Country ride at 9:30 a.m. Llano Mayor Gail Lang will lead riders on her favorite route, also at 9:30 a.m., ending with a riverside lunch in Robinson City Park.

Throughout the day will be live music and other fun, including the Llano Highland Games from 5-7 p.m. with host Sabi “Fly Girl” Eschmann, a friend from “over the pond,” according to the Ladies in Leather website.

This weekend’s highlight is the all-female motorcycle parade at noon Saturday. Hundreds of riders will line up in the Llano High School parking lot starting at 10 a.m. before making their way up Texas 16 to the event center at 2200 RR 152.

Also on Saturday are activities and live music.

A note to motorists: Be vigilant and watch for motorcyclists and additional traffic on the roadways during the event. For more information on the Ladies in Leather parade and rally, call the Llano Chamber of Commerce at 325-247-5354 or visit the event’s website.
