NONPROFIT WISH LIST: Living Love Animal Rescue

Living Love Animal Rescue works hard to take in all the dogs and cats it can and find forever homes for them. As a volunteer organization that relies primarily on donations to fuel its efforts, there’s always room for more generous hearts.

“The main item on our wish list is Purina Kitten Chow,” wrote Living Love volunteer Mary Canipe. “We could also use house cleaning items such as 13-gallon kitchen garbage bags, Dawn dish soap, Gain laundry detergent, paper towels, and disposable gloves.”

Living Love Animal Rescue owns a shelter/sanctuary outside of Marble Falls, where it currently has 65 cats and 11 dogs. The organization has transformed a house and two large outbuildings into dog and cat housing and kennels. Over the years, the volunteers have managed to get the kennel and cattery air conditioned as well as added other amenities.

They have also transformed the onsite house into a place for adoptable cats and felines with medical or physical problems. Some of the cats with medical and physical issues aren’t adoptable, so Living Love has provided a safe place for them to live out their lives.

The cats in the house also have access to the outdoors.

“The house is a sanctuary for them where they will live out their lives,” Canipe added.

Living Love Animal Rescue also has a number of cats that live in one of the barns, or cattery.

There is a separate kennel building and some outside runs for the dogs.

Other items the rescue organization needs are Tide with Downy, Downy dryer sheets, Kuranda dog beds, Purina One Lamb and Rice dog foods, bleach, Baby Magic bath wash, pillow cases, Friskies canned cat food, Sheba wet cat food, Fresh News kitty litter, lightweight throw blankets, plastic cat toys, dog toys, and (dog and cat) crates.

Monetary donations are also appreciated. Donations may be dropped off at the Living Love Animal Rescue Boutique, 905 Third St. in Marble Falls, during business hours. It’s also a great place to do a little shopping as proceeds support the organization.

Living Love could also use people interested in adopting a dog or cat. Go to livingloveanimalrescue.org for more information and to see adoptable pets.
