Hulking, crushing, and truly monstrous monster trucks are taking over the John L. Kuykendall Event Center in Llano on Feb. 5-6.

Some of the trucks slated to invade the arena are Monster Patrol, Bear Foot, Zilla, and Texas Outlaw.

Checkered Flag Promotions transforms the arena into a monster truck battleground, perfect for the high-flying, wrecking behemoths.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Friday Feb. 5. On Saturday, Feb. 6, the doors open at noon before the early at 1 p.m. A late show is 7 p.m. Saturday with doors opening at 6 p.m. The event center is located at 2200 RR 152 In Llano.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $15 for children and available online on the No Limits Monster Trucks website or at the gate.

The average monster truck engine is usually over 500 cubic-inches and packs in 1500-plus horsepower. With engines that size, they need time to cool down between runs, so Super Cross dirt bike races will entertain the crowds during the breaks.

Events typically last 2½ hours, including intermission. Officials remind people that monster truck competitions are exceptionally noisy. Video cameras and professional extended lens still cameras are not permitted.
