Smoking for Jesus Musical Production Goes Deeper into First Christmas Story

Those who attended last winter’s Smoking for Jesus Ministry School’s “One Child Who Changed the World” enjoyed it so much that director Paige Roberson decided to create another version — with one exception.

“We’re going deeper into the storyline,” she said. “We’ll display the different things going on in Bethlehem. It’ll have more speaking and dancing and a lot more singing and a lot more songs.”

The free concert starts at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the school’s multipurpose center, 1804 FM 2342 in Burnet. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Twenty-two children from grades third through high school are participating in the production. Rehearsals were held twice a week and began in late summer.

Roberson said she is so proud of the students, noting they have worked very hard to learn their dances, songs, and speaking parts. They see it as an opportunity to show others their faith and celebrate and praise the birth of the Savior.

“They’ve come together and worked together, are proud of their school, and are proud of what they’re doing and being apart of the chorale department,” she said. “I love seeing them work as a team to see them accomplish something. I’m excited for this year.”
