The Spartan Race Super and Sprint Weekend is May 18-19 at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet.

Challenge yourself physically and mentally at this premiere obstacle course race or just cheer on family and friends.

Races include the Super, the Sprint, the 12-hour Hurricane Heat, and a kids’ competition.

The Super is an 8-mile race with a series of obstacles, while the Sprint is a 3-mile course with mud runs, trail racing, and obstacles. The Hurricane Heat is a “unique individual and team-building experience designed to test teach athlete’s physical and mental toughness.”

Athletes can compete individually or as a team.

Spots go quickly, so register online at spartan.com. Spectators can watch the action for free, but parking is $20 in advance online or $25 on site (cash only).

For those wanting to know more about the Spartan Race, a free open house is 4-6 p.m. May 17 at the ranch. Register online.

Reveille Peak Ranch is located at 105 CR 114 in Burnet. The 1,300-acre facility offers trails for mountain bikers and runners, scuba diving at its spring-fed lake, camping, and more.
