You could walk away with a new Ford F-150 pickup truck during the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church’s Fall Festival. But even if you don’t, you’re going to walk away knowing you had a great time.

The Catholic parish, 105 RR 1431 in Marble Falls, is hosting its annual festival from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21.

The event includes a day’s worth of food and fun, getting started right after the 8 a.m. Mass wraps up.

If you’re wondering where at the church it will take place, don’t worry, you won’t miss it. Festival organizers are setting up an 80-foot-by-40-foot canopy with a stage at one end and about 13 food booths surrounding it.

The stage is for live and recorded music with plenty of room under the canopy for dancing.

As for the food booths, your toughest issue might be deciding which one. Organizers have rounded up kolaches, pozole, and coffee for right after Mass. Then, you can dig into other things such as turkey legs, gorditas, tacos, hamburgers, barbecue, fruit, carnitas, elotes (corn on the cob), hot dogs, quesadillas, paletas (fruit pops), and much more throughout the rest of the day.

If you miss one of the food booths, just circle back and try it later.

Along with the food, you can get beverages, including water, soft drinks, Horchata, and lime and pineapple aqua frescos.

The Fall Festival is only selling food by tickets, which are 50 cents each and available at the Knights of Columbus booth in front of St. John’s chapel. Or, just look for all the hungry people gathered around it.

The tickets are also used for the games and activities booths. For the kids, there will be face painting, a cake walk, a photo booth, and more.

There will also be volleyball and washer toss tournaments.

The Fall Festival includes live and silent auctions as well as a prize giveaways.

Auction items include, but are not limited to, themed gift baskets, olive wood, crosses, religious artwork, a statute of St. John, and artwork by local artist Rhoni Harris. You can view many of the items in the church’s Alexander Center during the festival.

Tickets for the prize giveaway — including the Ford F-150 crew cab pickup truck — are $5 each or $20 for five. Tickets are available at the parish office before the festival and during the event. Other prizes are jewelry, gift cards, artwork, and more.

Call the parish office at (830) 693-5134 or email stjohnmarblefalls@gmail.com for more information or follow facebook.com/stjohnmarblefalls.
