The Picayune’s Mother’s Day Essay Contest
With Mother's Day around the corner, are you looking for just the right thing to give her? Why not write something that celebrates your mom and enter it in The Picayune's second annual "What Mom Means to Me" essay contest?
It's a chance to put down in words (150 or fewer) what makes your mom so wonderful, unique, special, funny, etc. You can take a heartfelt approach or a more humorous one, whatever you want.
You might just want to share why you think your mom is special or recount a story that really brings your her to life on the page.
Essays are due by Friday, April 28. Email them to firstname.lastname@example.org; mail them to The Picayune Mother's Day contest at P.O. Box 10, Marble Falls, TX 78654; or drop them off at The Picayune at 1007 Ave. K in Marble Falls.
The top three essays will end up in the May 10 edition of The Picayune and earn their authors a prize from local sponsors.
Even if you don't win, you'll have a great letter to give your mom on Mother's Day that tells her how special she is to you.
Essays by youth 17 or younger need to be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.
