The Hill Country Community Theatre is casting the second show of its 2019-20 season, the comedy “A Twisted Christmas Carol,” written Phil Olson.

Auditions are 7 p.m. Monday, September 23, and Tuesday, September 24, at the theater, 4003 FM 2147 West in Cottonwood Shores. Sides from the script will be provided at the audition for cold readings.

The show will be directed by Mike Rademaekers, executive director of the Hill Country Community Theatre.

Roles are:

Darla Johnson — Strong-willed co-owner of a barbecue joint called Buford's Open Pit Barbecue, who's been married to Buford for a long time.

Buford Johnson — Darla's husband. Strong-willed co-owner of Buford's. A Texan Archie Bunker.

Bubba Pickford — Oblivious, dense business owner.

Daisy Newsom — Pretty, young, dreamy ex-short order cook at Buford's.

Hank Walker — Famous barbecue legend and owner of Hank's Own Barbecue Sauce. A ladies man.

Summary:

It’s Christmas Eve in a small Texas town, and cantankerous barbecue joint owner Buford Johnson argues with his wife, tells her he’s skipping Christmas, storms out of the restaurant, gets hit by a twister, rolls his truck, and slips into a coma. In his dream, he’s visited by an ex-business partner who takes him on a Dickensian journey — Texas style!

The production runs December 5-22 with performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and 2:15 p.m. Sundays.
