Senior Home Care Company Hosting Angels in the Park Event for All Ages
MARBLE FALLS — It wasn’t enough for Visiting Angels, which provides senior home care and elder care services, to simply serve those who need it.
Staff decided they wanted to throw a free community gathering so families could come together for an afternoon of creating memories.
That, in essence, is why the local bunch is hosting Angels in the Park and inviting the entire Highland Lakes. The event is noon-4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Johnson Park, 230 Avenue J.
“We wanted to give back to our community and to our employees,” said Kim Uhler, care coordinator of Visiting Angels in Marble Falls. “We wanted to show our appreciation.”
Children can jump in a bounce house, drop a fishing line over a wall for a prize, toss water balloons, and get their faces painted. Visiting Angels staff will be playing all genres of music on loud speakers while serving free hot dogs, chips, and drinks.
“We’re definitely an office of detail,” Uhler said. “We wanted to make sure there’s something for everyone. Everybody gets to enjoy.”
While many of the activities are for kids, Uhler said Visiting Angels envisions multiple generations attending together. She noted the amusement and pleasure many of the company’s clients have when they talk about their children or grandchildren. To her, Angels in the Park offers everyone a chance to get together, have fun, and make memories.
“We want to bring everybody together,” she said. “It’s something for whole families and the surrounding communities.”
