Wakepoint LBJ in Kingsland plans full day of music on July 31

Texas country star Wade Bowen headlines a full day of live music at WakeFest 2021 on July 31. The event is hosted by Wakepoint LBJ, 14757 RR 1431 West in Kingsland.

Bowen takes the stage from 8:30-10 p.m.

The rest of the musical lineup is:

  • Jeff Jacobs Duo playing Texas country, 12:30-2 p.m.
  • Cheyenne Saenz playing Texas country, 2:30-4 p.m.
  • Tyler Preston playing pop, rock, blues, jazz, and country, 4:30-6 p.m.
  • Ryan Holley playing country covers, 6:30-8 p.m.

General admission tickets are $30 (plus fees and sales tax) and are available now online.

Bowen is a popular artist in the Texas scene. He started performing as part of the band West 84, which eventually became Wade Bowen and West 84. Since 2002, Bowen has cut a number of albums and was instrumental in carving out what would become known as Red Dirt country. His music, while squarely in the country genre, has a way of reaching outside the lines and pulling in people who might not consider themselves country fans.

He combines great lyrics, a heartfelt voice, and solid performances. He and fellow Texas country artist Randy Rogers are in the midst of their “Hold My Beer & Watch This!” tour but have taken a night off for solo shows.
