Bowen is a popular artist in the Texas scene. He started performing as part of the band West 84, which eventually became Wade Bowen and West 84. Since 2002, Bowen has cut a number of albums and was instrumental in carving out what would become known as Red Dirt country. His music, while squarely in the country genre, has a way of reaching outside the lines and pulling in people who might not consider themselves country fans.
He combines great lyrics, a heartfelt voice, and solid performances. He and fellow Texas country artist Randy Rogers are in the midst of their “Hold My Beer & Watch This!” tour but have taken a night off for solo shows.
