Tracy Byrd, Flatland Cavalry headline 2018 Llano Crawfish Open

Headline acts for the 29th annual Llano Crawfish Open are Tracy Byrd and Flatland Cavalry.

LLANO — Tracy Byrd and Flatland Cavalry — as well as 18,000 pounds of mudbugs — headline the 29th annual Llano Crawfish Open on April 20-21.

The hospitality shown to Beaumont hunters led to a “thank you” party that now is one of the biggest events in the Highland Lakes. More than music and crawdads, the Llano Crawfish Open also raises money for local charities.

Friday’s entertainment lineup includes Les Hartman and Tracy Byrd. Hartman is a Llano native, who returns to the Crawfish Open stage. Byrd is well known from country music radio in the 1990s and 2000s with singles such as “Holdin’ Heaven,” “Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo,” “The Keeper of the Stars,” and “I’m From the Country.” Friday admission is free until 7 p.m. and $10 after 7 p.m.

Saturday’s music lineup includes Eleven Hundred Springs and Flatland Cavalry. Eleven Hundred Springs, founded in 1998, brings an outlaw country sound to the festival. Flatland Cavalry has gained notoriety as a country and Americana band since their debut album in 2015, “Come May.” Their 2016 album, “Humble Folks,” placed on the Billboard Americana/Folk and Top Country Albums charts. Admission on Saturday is $10 until 7 p.m. and $15 after 7 p.m.

More acts scheduled to play during the day will be announced later.

Both days of the Llano Crawfish Open also feature arts and crafts, vendors, and children’s activities.
